Reciprocal Links
Building
Building reciprocal links for your website is highly
important for gaining popularity both through visitors and
search engines. Bearing in mind that reciprocal links are the
exchanged links between websites, it is important to understand
how to set up reciprocal links building campaigns. To put it
simply, when you agree to exchange reciprocal links with
another site, you will post that site’s link on your website
and they will in turn post your link on their website. Keep in
mind that many site owners are very careful of exchanging
links, merely because of the less than honest site owners that
abound. When you exchange links it is a very good idea to check
the other sites and ensure that your links are all in working
order. Chances are that the other site owners will also be
checking your site to ensure the same.
The reason that reciprocal links are so vitally important is
simple. Billions of people hit the internet every day in search
of information. Some find the information that they need on the
first website that they visit, although most people will visit
three to four websites before they are satisfied with the
research that they have found. If you have traded links with a
site that has similar content to yours, chances are very good
that someone looking for this type of information will see your
link and travel to your site, thus providing you traffic. Now,
if you were to exchange links with several sites and several
people each day saw those links, you can just imagine what your
daily traffic potential would be. Not to mention that search
engines will view your site as more important, thus giving you
a higher pagerank, if your link is placed on multiple relevant
sites. This is, of course, if your links are placed on relevant
sites. If you simply exchange links with any website, not being
mindful of the content of those sites, then the search engines
will consider your links to be junk more or less and will not
give your site the credibility that it needs in order to gain a
good pagerank.
The actual quality of your links will depend on many
factors. You need to ensure the pagerank for each site that you
are reciprocating links with. You also need to properly
optimize your website as well as ensure that your links are
written well. Building reciprocal links is not a quick and easy
job. It does take some time. Most website owners will agree
that one month is about right for building a good link base for
your site, which normally consists of twenty well-written and
well placed reciprocal links. So, it is not an easy job, but it
is a very rewarding one. You must devote your time and
attention to building up your reciprocal links. In the long run
however, it will be well worth every minute spent.
