Link Exchange With High
PR Sites
Link exchanging is a common occurrence between websites and
can help to considerably increase website traffic. Search
engines see links on websites as indicators of how popular and
important those sites are. If you have links to your website
from another site, then your website is deemed to have
importance. However, it is important to note that in order for
the search engines to deem your website as important; your
links really do need to come from domains with pagerank. This simply means
that you do not want to go around putting your links up
anywhere. You need to make sure that the sites you are
linking to are legitimate sites and not merely link farms.
You should also ensure that you check the pagerank for these sites.
Websites that have a higher pagerank will do you much more
good than those that do not.
Your goal should be to find websites that have a general
reference to your site. They should be somewhat related to what
you are offering. For instance if your website is all about
cars then good sites to link to would be those that sell car
parts, mechanics sites, etc. You should always ensure that your
site is linking to and from sites of relevance. Once you have
located your sites for the link exchange, be sure to check the
pagerank for those sites and ensure that you are linking from
sites that offer a fairly high pagerank. This will gain you
even more traffic and give the search engines a much better
idea of your importance. If you are exchanging links with sites
that have a pagerank of seven or above, then search engines
will feel that your website is more important than those who
are linking to sites that have a lower or no pagerank at
all.
You should keep in mind also that link exchange is a good
think as long as you do not overdo it. You simply do not want
search engines to pull up your site and see page after page of
nothing but links. This constitutes a link farm and it will get
you nowhere in terms of pagerank and popularity. You should,
again, link only to sites that have relevance to the products
or content that you have displayed on your site. Once you have
narrowed your link exchanges down to those that are in direct
correlation to your site, and you have narrowed down to those
that offer a fairly high pagerank, you should have no problem
with keeping the search engines happy.
